2019 ASI Show Recap
Xplor, Inc. team members Renata and Katelin recently attended the first of three ASI Shows put on across the country. ASI Shows have grown to be the meeting place for suppliers and distributors in the promotional products industry. Between the three shows, approximately 14,000 distributors from over 5,000 companies and over 1,800 supplier companies come together to build their businesses in a face-to-face environment. The exhibit days allow suppliers and distributors the opportunity to connect on the show floor, where distributors will discover new products, and both parties can strengthen current and build new relationships to grow their business.
Renata and Katelin attended the show held in Orlando, Florida, which is about two hours away from the Xplor, Inc. office. The remaining shows will take place in Fort Worth, TX in February and Chicago, IL in July.
Although they only attended day two, the entire event spans over three days. The first day is dedicated to educational seminars where attendees learn about selling tips, intro to graphic design, apparel production, and much more. Days two and three are when distributers walk around the exhibition floor and meet with new or existing suppliers as well as scope out new products. It’s a great opportunity to touch and test products and apparel—a key factor in making recommendations to clients. The Orlando show featured over 600 vendors.
This year the event introduced a mobile app that gave attendees a complete layout of the exhibit hall, making it easy to find specific vendors. The app also featured a schedule of events that could be customized based on which seminars attendees wanted to attend.
Aside from the exhibit itself, ASI offers fun events throughout the weekend for members only. There was a “Show Bash” that took place at Universal’s CityWalk. And on the last day of the show, the featured keynote speaker was Cal Ripkin, Jr., a record-breaking former baseball player who spoke about leadership, teamwork, and perseverance.
