Incorporate Community Service Into Your Next Event

Posted by: Xplor, Inc. on Thursday, November 15, 2018

If you are looking to contribute to your community or those in need around the world, what better time then when you have a large group of volunteers already assembled and ready to go. We’re talking about your next conference or event of course! Saving some space in the agenda for community service the next time your organization comes together is a great way to make a difference. Here are some example of how Xplor, Inc. has helped our clients make a difference, as well as how we have contributed in our corner of the world.

At their 2018 conference, Senior Helpers attendees enjoyed a night at the ballpark in St. Louis, and received t-shirts to wear at the game. After the game, the group collected over 100 shirts to donate to the local Goodwill store.

In the past, Senior Helpers and Xplor, Inc. have also orchestrated an annual charity golf tournament. The event is sponsored by one of the conference’s vendor partners, and franchise attendees sign up and pay a fee to compete in the tournament, which takes place the day before the conference begins. Proceeds from the tournament are given to a chosen charity, which have included Rock Steady Boxing, National Parkinson Foundation, Team Fox For Parkinson’s Research, and Second Wind Dreams.

The fitness franchise Burn Boot Camp makes a point to give back during each conference. Recently, they partnered with a charter school on the south side of Chicago—an area known for high rates of crime and violence. The conference attendees worked together to build back backs for over 400 kids at the school so they would have school supplies for the entire year. They even included handwritten notes to each kid encouraging them to pursue their dreams!

During another conference, Burn Boot Camp worked with an organization that provides meals for women in shelters in the Naples, FL area. Their group of 200 attendees packed over 1,000 meals in under two hours! The meals were then delivered to a local women’s shelter.

At Rock Steady Boxing’s annual Coach Con this year, which was held in Philadelphia, PA, the group completed a Rocky Run to show support for the fight against Parkinson’s disease. The attendees, all wearing race t-shirts, started at the Loews Hotel and ran to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, finishing with a run up the “Rocky steps” before getting a group shot with the famous Rocky statue.

Team Xplor is always looking for the chance to help out in their local Bradenton, FL community. Xplor, Inc. regularly support the organizations Save Our Seabirds, Bookwallah, and Share Care Global by helping to plan and execute their events, as well as making financial donations to each charity.

For the last three years, the Xplor team members have ran a turkey trolley to pass out turkey and side dishes to families in need. This year, they will be volunteering at a food shelter on the day before Thanksgiving.

Incorporating community service into your next event creates a unique and meaningful experience for everyone who attends, and can mean the world to the people and organizations you are able to help.
