Another Successful Soiree For Save Our Seabirds

Another successful Save Our Seabirds Soiree was held on Thursday, April 5, 2018!

The evening started with a cocktail hour and the silent auction baskets. Baskets ranged from pamper packages, outdoor adventures, a dining basket worth around $900, tennis packages, golf packages, art packages, and wine baskets.

Four live auction items were the focus of the evening. The prizes included a Charter Boat Fishing trip for four people; an “Evening in India” (a full Indian dinner at your home for eight people); Center for Great Apes Private Tour for eight people; and a trip to New York City for two complete with first class flights, private airport transfers, paid dinner at Oceana, and tickets to Hamilton.

New to the event this year was a prize wheel, which added a fun and engaging experience for attendees. The price to spin the wheel was $20, and prizes included Save Our Seabirds merchandise (custom SOS wines, coffee mugs, hats, and totes); a scenic flight along the coast for two guests; pearl earrings and a necklace worth $500; bird-themed pillows, rug, and serving tray; and restaurant gift certificates.

Overall the evening was an incredible success! Over $80,000 was raised between the live auction items, silent auction items, live pledging, Blue Heron plush sales, prize wheel sales, and additional donations. Overall, SOS raised over $113,000 last night…and we’re still waiting on a few additional donations to come in. Unbelievable!

The Xplor, Inc. team and the rest of the planning committee are really happy with the results of the event. It was an amazing and beautiful night on the water and in the gardens!
